The Supreme Court sharply criticized YouTube personality Ranveer Allahbadia for making vulgar remarks on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent show. The court condemned his behavior, calling his comments “dirty” and accusing him of “vomiting” inappropriate thoughts on the show. The bench, led by Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh, expressed disgust, saying, “Such behavior has to be condemned.” They emphasized that Allahbadia’s popularity doesn’t excuse his distasteful language.

Allahbadia had filed a petition seeking to club multiple FIRs filed against him for his offensive comments. While the court protected him from arrest, it also issued strict directives. The court ordered him to stop airing shows on YouTube, stating that his remarks reflected a “perverted mind.” Justice Kant pointed out that Allahbadia’s words would embarrass families, saying, “Parents will be ashamed, sisters will be ashamed.”

Despite the criticism, the court also ensured his protection from arrest. It directed Allahbadia to surrender his passport at the Thane police station and prohibited him from leaving the country without prior permission. Additionally, the court held that any future FIRs on similar allegations would not lead to his arrest unless otherwise decided.

The Supreme Court’s stern comments underscored the importance of accountability, particularly for those with a large public platform. They reminded Allahbadia that his actions had consequences and that the law would take its course if needed.
