Outgoing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP of causing power outages just days after winning the assembly election. She claimed to have received multiple complaints about power cuts, forcing residents to buy inverters.

Addressing a press conference, Atishi said over 40 outages hit different areas within three days of AAP’s exit. She blamed BJP for poor governance and warned that Delhi could face prolonged outages like BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.

“In just three days, the power sector has collapsed. This shows how AAP closely monitored Delhi’s electricity system. Now, without AAP, governance has failed,” Atishi said.

The BJP secured a massive victory in the Delhi elections, ending AAP’s rule with a two-thirds majority. The party won 48 out of 70 seats, reducing AAP’s tally to 22 from its previous 62.

The BJP has yet to announce its chief ministerial candidate. Potential names include Parvesh Verma, who defeated Arvind Kejriwal, as well as Rekha Gupta, Shikha Roy, Vijender Gupta, Satish Upadhyay, Ashish Sood, Pawan Sharma, Kapil Mishra, and Abhay Verma.
