Abhishek Sharma’s record knock: Yuvraj Singh’s heartfelt post goes viral!
Abhishek Sharma delivered a spectacular all-round performance, leading India to a dominant 150-run victory over England in the fifth T20I at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Opening the batting, Abhishek made history by smashing the highest individual T20I score by an Indian batter, blasting 135 off just 54 balls. He reached his century in a record-breaking 37 balls, the fastest in T20I history.
Following his explosive knock, Abhishek contributed with the ball, taking two wickets in a single over and even grabbing a catch. His all-round brilliance helped India post a huge total of 247/9 in 20 overs. The Indian bowlers followed up with superb bowling, taking regular wickets to dismiss England for just 97. Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dube, and Abhishek all picked up two wickets, while Mohammed Shami returned in style, claiming three wickets in the death overs.
The game was a celebration for Abhishek, but it was also a proud moment for his mentor, Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj, known for his witty tweets, took to social media to praise Abhishek’s incredible performance. Unlike his usual tongue-in-cheek style, Yuvraj was all praise for Abhishek, calling his knock “top” and expressing his admiration for his striking abilities.
Earlier, when Abhishek had scored 79 off 34 balls in the first innings, Yuvraj had posted a playful tweet, mentioning his surprise at Abhishek hitting two boundaries down the ground. But this time, Yuvraj’s post reflected genuine admiration for Abhishek’s remarkable performance.
With this victory, India secured a 4-1 series win, capping off one of their best T20I series performances in recent times.
