Cong demands justice for killing of Cong leader Vishal Chaudhary
New Delhi, Jun. 27 (HS): Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala on Thursday hit out at the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar , a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled state, demanding his immediate resignation over the rising crime rate in the state.
Surjewala took to twitter saying the Congress urged the Haryana government providing justice to the family of slain Congress spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary who was shot dead today in Faridabad early morning where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“There are three murders, five misdeeds and ten abductions happening every day in Haryana! Chief Minister’s statement over the assassination of Congress leader Vikas Chaudhary is extremely insensitive, irresponsible and the reflection of addiction of power! Chief Minister Khattar should resign instantly”, wrote Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala in Hindi on his official twitter account.
Surjewala’s tweet comes in response to Khattar’s statement over the murder of Chaudhary saying he was not aware of the incident.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi called the incident sad and shameful. The Gandhi scion tweeted that, “The killing of Haryana Congress leader Vikas Chaudhary is a shameful, condemnable and unfortunate incident. The incident reflects deteriorating law and order situation in Haryana. May god give his family strength in this hour of sorrow and may his soul rest in peace”, he tweeted in Hindi.
Congress urged the Haryana government to bring the perpetrators of the slain party leader to justice.
Earlier, in the day, the Congress leader, Surjewala alleged that Haryana had become a stronghold of hooliganism and chaotic elements as well along with a complete law enforcement failure in the state. He also demanded a fair investigation in the murder of Vikas Chaudhary.
It is noteworthy that Vikas Chaudhary , a former leader of INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) recently joined the Congress and appointed the party’s spokesperson. Earlier today, he was shot today in Faridabad while travelling in his car this morning.
