Sonowal expresses grief over electrocuted death
Guwahati, June 27 (HS): Taking strong note of the incident at Biswanath District which led to the death of one Robin Das because of electrocution, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condemned the incident and directed Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) to rectify the shortcomings to avert recurrence of such incidents in future.
Chief Minister Sonowal expressing grief and condolences to the death of the Robin Das, asked APDCL Authority and District Administration to institute an inquiry to find out the sequel of events leading to the tragic death of the person and asked the APDCL to take strict action against such aberration. He also conveyed his condolence to the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul. He also announced Rs. 2 lakh from his relief fund as an immediate relief to the family.
It may be noted that one Robin Das while correcting a fault at 11 KV line in Biswanath District got electrocuted and died on the spot on Wednesday. Consequent upon this, APDCL apart from assuring job to the next of the kin of the deceased, announced Rs. 2.50 lakh and suspended two-line men of the APDCL. Meanwhile, district administration Biswanath instituted a magisterial inquiry and APDCL also ordered departmental probe into the incident.
