A powerful blast rocked an ordnance factory in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district near Nagpur this morning. The explosion occurred at 10:30 am, causing fear of at least six deaths, according to District Collector Sanjay Kolte. Emergency responders, including rescue and medical teams, are actively searching for survivors and working to manage the situation.

The explosion caused a roof to collapse, trapping 12 people beneath the debris. Rescuers managed to pull out two survivors, but others remain unaccounted for. Authorities have deployed excavators to clear the rubble and hasten the rescue operation.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing the blast from as far as 5 kilometers away. The explosion’s intensity shook the surrounding areas, and a massive plume of smoke was seen rising from the factory site. Videos from nearby locations captured the dramatic scene.

Firefighters continue their efforts to control the aftermath of the blast while medical teams stand by to assist any survivors. Officials have yet to confirm the cause of the explosion, but investigations are underway.

The ordnance factory in Bhandara specializes in manufacturing explosive materials and ammunition, making safety a critical concern. Residents in nearby areas expressed shock and concern over the incident, with many fearing for the safety of workers inside the facility.
