Ahead of New Year’s Eve celebrations in Delhi, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory to ensure safety and smooth movement. Popular spots like Connaught Place, India Gate, and Hauz Khas attract large crowds. To manage traffic and safety, the Delhi Traffic Police will deploy around 2,500 personnel and 250 teams to monitor drunken driving.

From 8 pm on December 31, traffic restrictions will be enforced around Connaught Place until after midnight. Vehicles will be restricted from entering certain areas, including Mandi House and Bengali Market. Only vehicles with valid passes will be allowed in the inner, middle, or outer circles of Connaught Place. Limited parking will be available near Gole Dak Khana, Patel Chowk, and Mandi House on a first-come, first-served basis. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed and fined.

The Delhi Metro has also issued a warning for commuters. Exit from Rajiv Chowk Metro Station will be prohibited after 9 pm, though entry will remain open until the last train departs. This measure aims to reduce overcrowding during the celebrations. Passengers are advised to plan accordingly, while metro services will continue as usual across the rest of the network.

For those traveling to New Delhi Railway Station, alternative routes, including Ram Manohar Lohiya Park Street, Mandir Marg, and Rani Jhansi Road, are suggested. Commuters are also advised to avoid Bhairon Road/Mathura Road between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Pragati Maidan to avoid congestion.

Delhi Police and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation are working together to ensure the safety of the public during the festive night. Commuters are urged to follow the advisories for a smooth and hassle-free celebration.
