6 who targeted Allu Arjun’s house with stones and tomatoes get bail
Six people were granted bail after they were arrested for vandalizing Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s residence in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when the group, holding placards, approached Allu Arjun’s house and began shouting slogans.
One individual climbed the compound and threw tomatoes, prompting a police response. The suspects, who identified themselves as members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC), were taken into custody.
This incident follows a controversy involving Allu Arjun related to the release of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. During the movie’s premiere on December 4 at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, a tragic stampede occurred.
The chaos, allegedly triggered by the actor’s presence, led to the death of a woman named Revathi and injured her child. The large crowd gathered outside the theatre in hopes of catching a glimpse of the actor, and the situation worsened when Allu Arjun waved to fans from the sunroof of his car.
In the aftermath of the incident, the actor was arrested but later released on bail after posting a ₹50,000 bond. Telangana’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, addressed the situation in the Assembly, revealing that the police had denied permission for the event due to safety concerns. Despite warnings, Allu Arjun attended the premiere, climbed onto his car, and participated in a roadshow, which exacerbated the dangerous crowd situation.
The stampede prompted police intervention. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) initially asked the actor to leave to prevent further unrest, but Allu Arjun refused, saying he would leave after watching the movie. Ultimately, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) warned the actor of arrest if he did not comply.
Even after the event, Allu Arjun again climbed onto his car roof while leaving, further escalating the risk. This chain of events has sparked significant controversy and ongoing discussions regarding safety at public events.
