Security has intensified at the Shambhu border on NH-44 as farmers prepare to march to Delhi on Friday. Haryana and Punjab police have deployed additional forces to control the growing number of protesters. Barricades have been reinforced with three new layers, including wire mesh and movable barriers, to manage the situation.
Over 100 farmers from unions like Bharatiya Kisan Union-Ekta and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are mobilizing to press their demands. Protesters from Punjab and Haryana have joined forces under banners such as Samyukta Kisan Morcha, signaling unity in their cause.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan has urged farmers to engage in talks with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He stressed that dialogue is the best way to resolve disputes and warned that disruptive protests will not yield results.
In response, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher reaffirmed their commitment to the march. Speaking at a press conference, he stated that the farmers will not back down until their demands are addressed.
The situation remains tense as authorities prepare for the march, and both sides urge resolution through their chosen paths.
