Hindus in Bangladesh, particularly ISKCON monks and devotees, face escalating threats. Fear and uncertainty dominate their lives as attacks by radical Islamists surge. The Hindu community now seeks urgent protection amidst ongoing violence.

Recently, an ISKCON leader in India issued an advisory to Bangladeshi monks. He urged them to conceal their Hindu identity to avoid becoming targets. The advisory discouraged wearing traditional saffron or white attire, using tilak, or displaying tulsi beads. It also advised limiting travel to minimize exposure.

The directive follows numerous incidents where Hindu monks faced vilification, assault, and imprisonment on fabricated charges. Islamists and the interim government have been accused of fostering this hostility. This systematic persecution leaves ISKCON members and the broader Hindu community vulnerable.

Targeted attacks have made hiding a survival tactic for many Hindus. Fear grips their daily lives, with religious symbols and traditions abandoned for safety. Despite these precautions, incidents of violence persist. Reports reveal homes looted, temples vandalized, and individuals assaulted or killed.

This ongoing violence highlights the dire need for intervention. Advocacy groups urge global organizations to pressure Bangladesh for justice and security for Hindus. Meanwhile, the community struggles to navigate a hostile environment, hoping for peace amidst the chaos.
