Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will witness the implementation of three new criminal laws in Chandigarh today. These laws, introduced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, aim to overhaul the criminal justice system. By using digital platforms, they streamline law enforcement, judicial procedures, and evidence management.

The live demonstration will highlight the laws’ impact, showcasing a simulated crime scene investigation. PM Modi will dedicate these laws, which were rolled out nationwide on July 1, during a program called “Secure Society, Developed India – From Punishment to Justice.” This initiative reflects the Prime Minister’s vision to replace colonial-era laws and shift the focus from punishment to justice.

The new laws are designed to make the legal system more transparent, efficient, and adaptable to modern needs. They are expected to strengthen the country’s justice system, making it more accessible to the public.

PM Modi will arrive in Chandigarh around 11:25 am. After witnessing the demonstration at Punjab Engineering College, he will dedicate the laws to the nation. Heavy security measures are in place for this significant event.

This visit marks a major step toward reforming India’s criminal justice system, demonstrating the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for all.
