India, US Hold 21st Military Cooperation Meet in Delhi to Boost Defence TiesThe 21st India-US Military Cooperation Group (MCG) meeting began in New Delhi on Wednesday. It was co-chaired by Lt Gen JP Mathew, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC), and Lt Gen Joshua M Rudd, Deputy Commander of USINDOPACOM.
The meeting focused on new initiatives within the framework of existing bilateral defence cooperation. Key discussions aimed at strengthening defence engagements and enhancing interoperability between India and the US, particularly to address mutual security concerns in the Indo-Pacific region. The goal is to maintain peace and stability through joint efforts.
The India-US MCG is an important forum for advancing defence ties through regular strategic and operational talks between the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff, and the US Indo-Pacific Command. This meeting marks another step forward in enhancing cooperation between the two nations’ military forces.
Earlier this week, the 15th edition of Exercise Vajra Prahar kicked off at the Orchid Combat Training Centre in Idaho, US. This exercise is designed to improve interoperability and share best practices between the Special Forces of both countries. It is a significant milestone in the growing military collaboration between India and the US.
During the ceremony, military contingents introduced themselves, shared cultural insights, and celebrated Deepawali together. The Indian contingent exchanged sweets with their US counterparts in a gesture of goodwill. Vajra Prahar aims to foster deeper cooperation and mutual respect between the Indian Army and US Army, strengthening their ability to work together effectively in future operations.
