In the wake of Cyclone Dana, early reports reveal significant damage to agricultural land. Initial estimates suggest that around 1.75 lakh acres (69,995 hectares) of cropland could be impacted. Additionally, visual assessments indicate that about 2.8 lakh acres (1,12,310 hectares) are submerged, potentially worsening the damage.

Arbinda Padhee, Secretary of Agriculture, stated that field officials from the Department of Agriculture (@krushibibhag) have been deployed to assess crop losses exceeding 33%. These officials will work closely with the Revenue Department, following a structured team approach led by District Collectors. This joint effort aims to ensure accurate and thorough documentation of the crop damage.

The government has emphasized the importance of quick and precise reporting to provide timely relief and support to affected farmers. More updates will follow as officials complete field evaluations in the coming days.
