Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the progress of the rape case involving an Odia woman during his visit to New Delhi today. He focused on the victim’s health, the investigation’s status, and other key issues.

Inspector General S. Shyni, head of the Crime Against Women and Children Wing, briefed the CM on the case. She was directed to work closely with Delhi Police and meet the victim to check on her recovery.

The Odisha government is supporting the victim’s family, who are in New Delhi. Senior Odisha police officials are coordinating with Delhi Police to arrest the perpetrators swiftly. Previously, the Chief Minister had urged quick action, instructing IG Shyni to collaborate with Delhi authorities. Odisha DGP YB Khurania also contacted Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora to push for progress.

The case involves a 34-year-old woman found in a semi-conscious state at Sarai Kale Khan on October 11. Initial findings suggest she was raped elsewhere before being left in the area. The victim, originally from a coastal town in Odisha, had been working in Delhi for a private firm.

The Odisha Resident Commissioner’s office in Delhi is overseeing the investigation closely. Authorities remain determined to ensure justice is served as swiftly as possible.
