Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu condemned the recent bomb threats targeting Indian airlines, with 19 flights affected in just three days. He expressed concern over these “disruptive acts” that threaten the safety and operations of domestic and international flights.

On Wednesday, Naidu revealed that Mumbai Police had arrested a minor responsible for issuing bomb threats to three flights. He assured that all others involved in these unlawful actions will be identified and prosecuted. The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening security measures and collaborating with global security agencies.

Earlier, Naidu chaired a high-level meeting with officials from DGCA, BCAS, CISF, and other key departments to address the situation. The bomb threats have caused delays and diversions, creating significant inconvenience for passengers.

On Monday, three international flights received bomb threats via social media, followed by 10 more on Tuesday. The threats were found to be hoaxes, but security agencies and police forces across the country are actively investigating. The Delhi Police also registered an FIR to trace those responsible.

As of Wednesday, six more flights, including those from IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air, faced similar threats. The issue was discussed in a parliamentary committee, where civil aviation officials reassured lawmakers that action is being taken to prevent further disruptions.
