An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi on Monday after a bomb threat, according to PTI. The flight, which departed around 2 am, was rerouted to Indira Gandhi International Airport, where it is currently grounded.

Authorities are following all safety protocols to ensure the well-being of passengers and crew. A senior police officer confirmed, “The aircraft is stationed at the airport, and all necessary safety measures are being diligently followed.”

The bomb threat was sent via a message on X (formerly Twitter) to Mumbai airport, which alerted security agencies. This led to the decision to divert the flight to Delhi.

An Air India spokesperson stated, “Flight AI119 from Mumbai to JFK received a specific security alert. Following instructions from the government’s security regulatory committee, the flight was diverted to Delhi.”

All passengers have disembarked and are at the Delhi terminal. Air India is working to minimize the disruption and prioritizes the safety of its passengers and crew.
