Today, Haryana voters will decide the fate of 1,031 candidates, including key figures like Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat. The state is voting for its 90-member Assembly, where the ruling BJP is aiming for a third consecutive win.

The BJP, which won 40 seats in the 2019 election, formed the government by allying with the JJP and independent MLAs. Manohar Lal Khattar became Chief Minister, and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala took the Deputy CM post.

This time, Congress hopes to break its decade-long opposition streak. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the party’s two-time former CM, is a strong contender for the top post. Meanwhile, Vinesh Phogat’s entry has stirred interest due to her successful wrestling career and family’s prominence in sports.

AAP, JJP, and INLD are also vying for influence, making this a tightly contested race. The election results will be announced on October 8, shaping Haryana’s political future for the next five years.
