NIA raided the home of former MLC and JDU leader Manorama Devi in Gaya early this morning. The raid began around 4:30 am, with police surrounding her residence in AP Colony, located in the Rampur police station area of Gaya city.

The NIA team has been inside her house for several hours, questioning her in a closed room.

The action is based on allegations linking Manorama Devi’s family to Naxalites. NIA is reportedly investigating these connections, although details remain limited.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Bharti confirmed that the NIA had sought cooperation for the raid. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further information has been released.

Manorama Devi’s family has been in the spotlight recently. Just a few days ago, she and her son, Rakesh Ranjan alias Rocky Yadav, received death threats via two separate letters.

The letters, sent by speed post, not only threatened their lives but also warned of an explosion. In response, the JDU leader filed an FIR with the local police, intensifying the security around her and prompting further investigation into the threats.

Manorama Devi’s family has had its share of controversies. Her son, Rocky Yadav, was convicted in the 2016 road rage case that led to the death of a teenager in Gaya. Although he was later granted bail, the case kept the family in the public eye, casting a shadow over their political influence in the region.

Today’s raid adds another layer to the scrutiny surrounding the family. The involvement of the NIA suggests a serious investigation, with authorities taking no chances given the alleged links to Naxal activities and the recent threats.
