Delegation level talks were also held between the two leaders. Some important agreements were signed between the two countries during this period.

Boris Johnson arrived on a two-day visit to India on Thursday. His journey started from Ahmedabad in Gujarat and on Friday, he reached the capital, where Modi gave him a warm welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Johnson thanked Modi for the warm welcome. I don’t think things between us (India-UK) have ever been as strong or as good as they are now, he said.

British Prime Minister paid floral tribute at Raj Ghat and held delegation level talks at Hyderabad House with Modi.

It is speculated that Johnson and Modi also discussed the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

“Johnson is on his official visit as PM, but as a friend, he understands India comprehensively. He has played an important role in strengthening Indo-UK ties,” Modi said.

India wants to progress on the Free Trade Agreement with the UK and also strengthen defence ties between New Delhi and London, the PM added.
