An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude hits Assam Thursday night

New Delhi, 8 October (H.S): A strong tremor was felt in Assam on Thursday midnight. However, most of the people could not feel it as they were sleeping. An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude was felt at 11:58:04 pm. No damage was reported from anywhere so far. The earthquake was felt in many other states of the Northeast as well. According to information received from the Indian Geology Center, the epicenter of the earthquake has been reported 90 km below the ground in neighboring Myanmar and is located at 22.25 north latitude and 94.60 east longitude.
