Bengaluru, 23 September (H.S): The bodies of three people became bits and pieces while four others hurt in the blast incident here this afternoon have been rushed to the hospital.
This incident took place at a private godown in Rayan Circle near New Taragu Pet under the Chamarajpet police station limits.
According to Harish Pande, DCP South, who visited the incident spot: This is a mysterious blast case and not due to an LPG cylinder leak nor a short circuit. The body parts of three persons who lost their lives in the incident were tossed like tiny objects in the close vicinity while four others were badly injured. The condition of two admitted to the Government Victoria hospital is stated to be serious.
Due to the sudden impact of the blast, more than 10 two-wheelers were damaged beyond recognition. Among the deceased include two from the godown and one more person in the adjoining puncture shop, he added.
On the face of it, it looks like a crackers blast and as of now there is no indication of the blast had occurred due to a compressor or gas leak, said the DCP.
Though there were about 60 boxes containing crackers only a couple of them have blasted while all the remaining ones are intact. It is not suddenly clear to ascertain the reasons leading to the blast incident.
Dog squad and experts from the Forensic Department have been requisitioned to the spot for further investigations, Police sources informed.
