6.3 magnitude earthquake in Papua, Indonesia
Jakarta, June 20 (HS): 6.3 magnitude earthquake tremors were felt on Thursday in Papua of, East Indonesia. American Geological Agency said that no warnings were issued about the tsunami during this period.
According to the Geological Survey, an earthquake occurred at 12.44 minutes at the local time around 250 kilometers west of Abepura town in Papua province. It was 12 kilometers below the ground. A slight shock was felt in Abepura .
Ministry of National Development, Bappenas was already outlining plans to start the process within the next few years. Bappenas head Bambang Brodjonegoro said that once plans for the move are finalized, the government can begin building infrastructure at the chosen site for the new capital between 2021-2023, with the goal of starting the move by 2024.
