Old transmission towar fell on govt banglow
Itanagar, Jun.18 (H.S):The Very Low power Transmitter installed at Darak of west Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh has fell down into roof of Darak inspection Bungalow and partially damaged it.
These VLPTs installed in different locations like Mechuka, Kaying, Yomcha, Darak, Liromoba, Tirbin, Basar and other places in State two decades back are defunct since inception. These have become obsolete and gathering rust everywhere. The VLPT at Aalo, though located in prime place, serves no purpose and pose immediate threat due to encroachments and erosions from all sides. The DIPRO with the help of district administration has tried its level best to protect the land from encroach and written to Doordarshan Maintenance Centre, Itanagar through number of letter for erecting retaining wall around the centre and imminent danger it poses to the dwellers around but no tangible action has been initiated to by the authority so far. These VLPTs need to be dismantled immediately and there is no point waiting for them to fall and invite public wrath.
