ST Somasekhar donates Rs One Lakh to 100 Covid-19 Victim Families
Bengaluru,13 May(HS): ST Somasekhar, Cooperative Minister today became a role model by donating Rs One Lakh to the family members of 100 people who lost their lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He made the welcome gesture in his individual capacity.
Sri Siddalinga Swamiji of the renowned Tumakuru Siddganga Mutt launched the monetary benefit program in front of the Anjaneya temple in Herohalli village of Yeshvantpur Assembly constituency. ST Somasekhar also happens to be the MLA representing the Yeshvantpur constituency.
The seer was full of praises for the pro-people stance of ST Somasekhar and called upon leaders of different walks of life to follow suit since Covid-19 victims don’t get monetary compensation from the governments.
ST Somasekhar, speaking on the occasion informed that he has been arranging Food Kits and Medical Kits for 5,000 families in home isolation. Apart from that, monetary and medicines’ requirements of people admitted to the government hospitals are also being taken care of while the houses of people who have recovered from Covid-19 are being sanitized, he added.
A 341 Bed facility including 101 with Oxygen arrangements has been set up at Jnana Bharati(Bengaluru University) campus. A 100-bed facility has been provided at Janseva Kendra by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteers. In addition to that, as a precautionary measure, two more Covid Care centers are being set up at Herohalli and Kengeri. Both of them will be functional in a couple of days, he informed.
