UP CM Yogi presents report card on completion of four years in office
Lucknow, 19 March (HS) :Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday presented report card of his Government on completion of four years in office. He on the occasion detailed the achievements of the Government in the last four years.
Addressing the media persons at the Lok Bhawan here CM Yogi said that his Government changed the identity and the image of UP in a short span of four years. He said that before 2017 the UP was positioned far behind in the list of development, economy, employment and implementation of Central Government’s schemes. But, in four years now the state is second biggest economy of the country and it has second place in the ease of doing business, he said.
The CM said that in 2017 when we formed the government the connectivity of roads and airlines were very poor. People were facing power crisis. No festivals were being celebrated peacefully and in some trival villages people did not even had voting rights. But now the entire scenario is changed. All the inter-state borders and the district headquarters are connected with four lane roads. The road network of rural area is also strengthened.
He said that the state has now eight airports which were only two before 2017, he said adding that UP has now emerged as the growth engine of the country and investors are coming here happily as the law and order situation of the state is improved and no riots took place in the state in the last four years. The implementation of the zero tolerance policy against the criminals brought the crime rate down by 44 to 60 percent in almost all the categories.
Yogi said that that his government has adopted the mantra of Reform, Perform and Transform in order to make UP’s economy the second biggest in the country. It is now new UP of new India as we see positive results in all the sectors. Be it education or health, agriculture or MSMEs, he said adding that even the per capita income has doubled in four years.
He further said that the state witnessed extensive changes in the field of education in four years. In last decades UP was known for students copying in the exams but we put an end to this practice. Besides, our government improved infrastructure in education sector. The competitive students are now being provided free coachings under Mukhya Mantri Abhudaya Yojana.
The Chief Minister on the occasion released o booklet on development comprising the achievements of the government in four years. A short film was also screened on the occasion.
Prominent among those present during the press conference included both the Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, state president of BJP Swatantra Dev Singh, Chief Secretary RK Tiwari and others.
