Patnaik seeks people’s cooperation to make Odisha zero infection state

New Delhi, 14 March (HS): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday appealed to people of the State to follow the Covid guidelines so as to achieve zero infection target in the State. His message came amid the resurgence of coronavirus cases in several parts of the country. He sought the people’s cooperation in the state’s fight against the pandemic.

Patnaik said, “With your support, the Covid situation is currently under control in Odisha. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also praised our battle against the pandemic. Our daily rate of infection is below 100 now. Zero infection is our target.” He further said that one should not be complacent as there is a threat of the coronavirus.

The situation due to Covid-19 has got worsened in certain areas in states like Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Patnaik further said that lockdown has been reimposed in some parts of the Maharashtra due to resurgence of the pandemic.

The Chief Minister said that the bitter experience of lockdown is still afresh in the memory of people as it adversely affected the economy, social life, education of the children and all other sectors. Be highly cautious to avoid lockdown, Patnaik said.
