Properties of Khajurbani hootch tragedy accused will be auctioned
Chapra/Gopalganj,13 March(HS): Properties of accused of Khajurbani hooch tragedy will be auctioned and DM Dr. Nawal Kishor Chaudhry has sought details of properties of all the accused and also has sought legal opinion from district prosecutor and from the government pleader.
It is to be mentioned that the special Excise court had awarded capital punishment to the accused and life imprisonment to four women accused, out of fourteen accused. The court had also slapped a fine of ten lakhs on each sentenced to life imprisonment.
On 15-16 August in 2016, nineteen persons had died after consuming spurious liquor and five persons had lost vision. An FIR was lodged with Gopalganj town police station on the allegations of keeping illicit liquor and selling it. Out of fourteen accused, Grahan Pasi has died.
Two separate FIRs were lodged bearing number 347/16 and 348/16 which was related to the death of 19 persons. In the matter of FIR number 348/16, Patna High court had stayed the hearing before the special Excise court after hearing.
