CM Yogi honours several women on International Women’s Day
Lucknow, 08 March (HS) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honoutred several women for their contribution to the society to mark the International Women’s Day here on Monday. He on the occasion inaugurated various schemes for the welfare of women at a function held at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan in state capital here.
While speaking at the programme CM Yogi said that equal participation of women in various fields is necessary for the progress of the country and society. He said that the State Government is committed to the all-around progress of women and girls. Several schemes are being implemented by the state government for this purpose, he added.
CM Yogi on the occasion started second phase of Mission Shakti Abhiyan. He said that the Mission Shakti Abhiyan was started in the state on the auspicious occasion of Navratri last year. This abhiyan is being conducted in the state for the safety, honor, and independence of women and girls, he added.
Yogi said that there were innumerable references to many women are found in our history, who established the highest dimensions of achievements through their personality and work. Even at the present time, women are showing the way to a society with their specific works, he added.
Earlier, he honoured 11 women for their extra ordinary services in the society. Deputy CM Dr Dinesh Sharma, Minister of state for Secondary Education and several others were also present in the programme.
