Delegation of western UP farmers calls on the Chief Minister

Lucknow, 06 March (HS) :    Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that farmers are the priority of the state government and that the state government is making serious efforts for the welfare of farmers under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the farmers will get the benefit of the agricultural laws implemented by the central government under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Agricultural laws have been enacted with the objective of doubling the income of farmers, he underlined.

The Chief Minister said so to a delegation of farmers from western Uttar Pradesh who called on him at his official residence in the state capital today. He further said that the Prime Minister has always formulated policies keeping farmers in mind and pointed out how the state government is implementing the programmes and schemes related to the interests of the farmers very seriously.

It is a result of this that under Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, Uttar Pradesh has been awarded the first prize for the best performance in the country, he informed.

The members of the delegation on the occasion told the CM that the agricultural laws implemented by the central government are farmer-friendly. These laws, they further admitted, are an attempt to empower the farmers and that small and marginal farmer will get the most benefit of these laws. They also informed that this was the reason that they were in full support of these laws. Serious efforts are being made by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister for the welfare of agriculture and farmers, they acknowledged.

The farmers of the delegation also said that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sichai Yojana etc. have been implemented by the Prime Minister, including the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, and taken efforts to give the farmers a reasonable price for the crop, the MSP was fixed at one and a half times the cost.

A large number of farmers are benefiting from effective procurement under MSP in the state, they observed while adding that the state government, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, is working for the interests of farmers with full commitment. Due to the efforts of the Central and State Governments, there has been a big change in the lives of farmers, the delegates further stated.

Members of the delegation said that some people are trying to confuse the farmers through the peasant movement which was, in turn, disrupting traffic and causing inconveniences to people. The delegates also emphasized that the only solution to any problem can be found through dialogue.

The delegation under the leadership of MLA Umesh Malik also included Chaudhary Rajendra Singh Malik, Chaudhary Subhash Balian Sarv Khap functionary, Chaudhary Rajveer Singh Malik Thambedar, Chaudhary Harveer Singh, Chaudhary Rajpal Singh, Chaudhary Feru Singh, Chaudhary Karan Singh, Chaudhary Sunil Kumar, Chaudhary Ramveer Singh, Chaudhary  Arvind Malik, Chaudhary Sarveer Singh, Chaudhary Sarvender Singh and Chaudhary Dharamvir Singh.
