Where is justice, asks a poor woman
Noida, 2 March (HS): “If you are going to Uttar Pradesh police for help, think twice. First of all they do not listen to you. In case they do, they do not register any FIR and don’t take action , “these are the words of a hapless woman from northeast India who lost her e- rickshaw’s four batteries. This correspondent personally tried to help this woman and took her to the Khoda police station. She gave a written complaint to the duty officer. The date we don’t know as the Khoda police hardly gives the copy of the complaint. Perhaps it is 11 February. Night around 9.08 pm. As per my call record when I took number of duty officer Sombir Singh.
He immediately took the picture of the complaint that was given by Nisha, one whose e-rickshaw batteries were stolen by someone, whom she knew.
Sombir singh immediately sent copy of complaint to the SHO. But when Nisha asked for the copy, he refused to give on the pretext, “Senior officers have asked not to do so.” Who are these officers who can’t provide a receiving of the complaint.
The SHO also did not responded thereafter. No officer from the Khoda police station ever called that hapless woman ever. Seeing police attitude towards a poor woman, the person who reportedly stolen the batteries, as told by the woman, has stolen her e- rickshaw.
Now she is on the roads. “No money no mercy from anywhere. What to do, should I go back to my native place Assam. Will I get justice,” asks a young, poor, hapless woman, Nisha with wet eyes! “To me rs 50 are enough because it gives me meal to survive. E- rickshaw was my bread earning. I lost it. Police did nothing,” said Nisha, adding, “I have to pay it’s installment of rs 35k. From where I will do it,” Nisha asked.
As a common person, the matter might be very small. But if we think about the policing, it’s really very shameful.
