RSS chief to formulate action plan for clean Ganga
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb 20 (HS): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is taking lead efforts to formulate an action plan for dealing with the discharge of untreated waste into the Ganga, which was evident during his address to volunteers of Ganga Samagrah at VHP camp in Magh Mela, Prayagraj on Saturday.
He also released a book during ‘Ganga Samagrah’ and ‘Namami Gange Exhibition’ at the VHP camp.
“Our aim is to come out with an action plan for a pollution-free and free-flowing Ganga so that its implementation on the ground could be started from next month,” he said while addressing 600 workers from six states, who have gathered here to brainstorm on the topic ‘Ganga for us, We for Ganga’ and finalise an action plan to ensure its purity and free flow. He asked volunteers to raise devotional spirit of people, which is necessary to keep Ganga clean and free flowing. “Ganga aarti should be organized on a regular basis in villages located on the banks of the holy river. Rise in devotion towards Ganga will help in achieving the desired goals in short span of time. We had taken a resolve to build Ram Mandir in Ayodhya but were not sure, when it will happen. However, grand Ram Temple will soon be a reality. Now, we need to take similar resolve and approach to maintain free flow of clean Ganga river,” Bhagwat said. BJP leader and ex-union minister, Uma Bharti was also present on the occasion.
“Mohan Bhagwat will later during the day assess and evaluate the objectives achieved by Ganga Samagra organization over the years and prepare future plans while holding interaction with the volunteers and form a blue print with the feedback attained during the interactive session,” RSS functionary Murarji Tripathi said while speaking to HS. Ganga Samagrah is a platform affiliated with the RSS.
