AIMIM sets up students’ wing to contest AUSU polls
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb 12 (HS): All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) is set to enter the student politics of Uttar Pradesh by contesting in Allahabad University Students’ Union (AUSU) elections this time. “
The AIMIM has already launched a door-to-door membership campaign in Prayagraj division.They are aiming to increase our party’s presence and influence among local youths.
People have joined AIMIM in large numbers recently and have vowed to support the party in the Panchayat, municipal and UP assembly polls 2022.
We will contest students’ union polls and will field our candidates on all posts in AU and constituent colleges. We are approaching students of all castes and communities for support and are assuring them all assistance in studies and difficulties,” said party’s legal cell chief, Arif Iqbal, who also happens to be a former Allahabad University student union leader.
Party’s spokesperson, Afsar Mahmood told HS that AIMIM state president Shaukat Ali has appointed Mohammad Amir, an MA first year student of the Allahabad University (AU), as the head of the students’ wing and has entrusted him the responsibility of constituting his team and launching a membership drive. “
This is the first students’ wing of AIMIM in the state which will actively participate in students’ union politics and will contest elections,” he added.
