Stolen child recovered from a private child care health center

Chapra,25 January,2021 (HS) Police have heaved a great sigh of relief and satisfaction after recovering the stolen newly born within 72 hours. In a press conference today SP Santosh Kumar told that the child was stolen from newly born care unit at sadar hospital on 23 January. Infant was the the male child of Sushil Kumar Sah and Rajanti Cevi Devi of Dhup Nagar under Khaira police station. Seeing the seriousness of the matter a special investigative team under SP was constituted and  swinging into action the team succeeded in recovering the child from RC child health care center .  Rinku Devi who had stolen the child , along with her mother have been arrested. SP said that Rinku Devi has confessed to the crime. SP told that Rinky Devi was abandoned by her first husband as she did not deliver any child. She was married to another man. Guided by the fear that this time ,too, she would be abandoned, she pretended that she was pregnant and with her mother did a recce of the hospital. Finally she managed to steal the child. The Sari and shawl were also recovered which she had worn during stealing the child, he added.

SP said that the entire team would be felicitated. the team has done commendable job and has come up to the expectation of the people. Peoples’ co operatin is always required and the police would do its wxpectation. Meanwhile civil surgeon Dr. Madheshwar Jha has  suspended three GNM Nurses on the charge of dereliction of duty and has dismissed the guard and Mamta posted on the day of stealing of the child.

After the incident people had strongly protested and had staged a road blockade due to which the programme of health minister Mangal Pandey was cancelled. He was to inaugurate City Scan center at the hospital.
