India’s star batsman KL Rahul out of Australian tour due to wrist injury
New Delhi, January 05 (HS): Before the third Test against Australia, Team India has to face another major setback. India’s star batsman KL Rahul has missed the entire Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to a wrist injury.
Rahul was practising in the nets before the third Test in Sydney, during which the ball hit his left wrist and he got injured. It will take about three weeks for Rahul to recover from this injury. Rahul will now be sent to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for recovery. However, it is believed that Rahul will recover before the series against England begin in February.
This is the third time on the Australian tour when an Indian player is injured and has left the Test series. Before Rahul, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have been injured and were out of this tour. Apart from this, Team India is also facing a shortage of their captain Virat Kohli. Kohli returned to India on Paternity Leave after the first Test.
The second out of four Test-match series between India and Australia drew at 1-1. The third Test of the series will be played in Sydney from January 07.
