Jammu-Srinagar highway blocked for brief period

Jammu, June 12(HS): The traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway closed for few hours following shooting stones and landslides in Ramban district on Wednesday Authorities closed the vehicular movement on national highway after landslides, mudslides and shooting stones hit the road due to overnight incessant rains for brief period in Cheshma, Kela Moor, Digdool and Pantiyal area of Ramban. A senior officer said, “The road closed for traffic at 7 am for few hours due landslides, but debris were cleared and road is open for traffic.” Meanwhile, shooting stones and landslides also triggered in some places between Doda and Kishtwar but authorities restored the highway. However, no one hurt in any of these incidents.
