National status for National Institute of Siddha sought ..
New Delhi, 16 September (HS): The Rajya Sabha MP, M Thambidurai on Wednesday demanded national status for the National Institute of Siddha situated in Tamil Nadu. In the Rajya Sabha, he said that Siddha is one of the important systems of Indian medicine. The National Institute of Siddha is doing very well in this direction. It has also done a good job in telling people about its importance. More and more people should know about its benefits.
The DMK Rajya Sabha MP M. Shanmugam said that the central government should give importance to the medical practices like Siddha, Unani of Ayurveda. There are many institutes in Tamil Nadu where such old medical practices are being promoted.
