Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his visit to Brazil, where he attended the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. He then headed to Guyana, marking the final leg of his three-nation tour.<\/p>\n

In Brazil, PM Modi met global leaders such as US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Prior to the summit, Modi had visited Nigeria, where he held productive talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was awarded Nigeria\u2019s second-highest honor, the \u201cGrand Commander of the Order of the Niger.\u201d Modi dedicated the award to India\u2019s 140 crore people and to the strong India-Nigeria friendship.<\/p>\n

During his time in Brazil, PM Modi was warmly received by the Indian community, who greeted him with Sanskrit chants and cultural performances. He also briefly interacted with US President Biden, marking their first meeting since the results of the 2024 US Presidential elections, in which Republican Donald Trump emerged victorious.<\/p>\n

In his address at the G20 Summit, PM Modi reflected on the theme from the 2023 G20 Summit in India\u2014\u201cOne Earth, One Family, One Future\u201d\u2014and emphasized its continued relevance. He also stressed the importance of focusing on the Global South, particularly nations struggling with the ongoing food, fuel, and fertilizer crises caused by global conflicts.<\/p>\n

Before departing Brazil, the Ministry of External Affairs posted an update on X, confirming that PM Modi was leaving for Guyana after a \u201cconstructive and fruitful\u201d G20 summit.<\/p>\n
