Security Measures Implemented for Navneet and Ravi Rana Amid Threats
Former Member of Parliament Navneet Rana and ex-MLA Ravi Rana have received security after credible threats were made against them. Their personal secretary, Umesh Dhone, submitted an application to the police requesting protection. In response, the Central government has granted Navneet Rana Y Security from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Meanwhile, the state government has provided Ravi Rana with Y Plus security.
The situation escalated when Navneet Rana received threatening letters from an unknown individual in Hyderabad. These letters, dated October 11 and 14, included alarming threats of gang rape and murder. In light of these threats, Umesh Dhone emphasized the need for security, stating that both leaders plan to campaign during the upcoming elections. He highlighted the importance of their safety to prevent any potential incidents.
The decision to enhance their security underscores the serious nature of the threats and the heightened risks associated with their political activities. As the election campaign intensifies, ensuring the safety of candidates has become increasingly vital. The measures taken by both the Central and state governments reflect a commitment to protecting public figures amid rising concerns over security in the political arena.
By providing adequate security, authorities aim to create a safer environment for Navneet and Ravi Rana as they engage with constituents. This proactive approach also serves to reassure their supporters that the political process can continue without fear.
