Roasted scorpion in veg curry served in a Bihar quarantine centre
Darbhanga, 31 May (HS): When the migrant workers quarantined at a high school in Drbhanga district in Bihar sat on lunch on Sunday, at least one of them was served with “non-veg dish”. He found to his horror a roasted scorpion in his plate.
This was enough to create a sensation and fear among all the migrant workers at the Badri Yadav high school in Keoti block. Suddenly some of them started vomiting and some those who already had consumed their meal complained of dysentery and stomachache.
When informed the circle officer (CO) of Keoti block with a doctor reached the quarantine centre. The doctor gave some medicines to the migrants complaining of their problems. The migrants in unison complained of bad situation in the school and indifferent attitude of the officials attached to this quarantine centre.
One migrant worker narrated, “When we were eating the meal one of us started shouting and showing his plate where in the vegetable a dead scorpion was sandwiched. When he showed it others eating their lunch started throwing off their plates. “
One migrant Vinod Paswan said, “We all were eating and praising that the cook has cooked food very well. Suddenly one of us rose from his place and started shouting, “khana me bichchu hai.” This was enough to create sensation among all and some others who had already finished their lunch started complaining from headache to stomachache to giddiness.” Later on they said they were feeling good after being administered with some medicines.
