IPS Vijay Kumar new acting DGP of Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow, 31 May (HS): A top source confirmed on Wednesday that senior IPS officer Vijay Kumar will be the next acting DGP of Uttar Pradesh. With the outgoing Director General of Police (DGP) R K Vishwakarma retiring on Wednesday, Kumar has been handed the additional duty by the chief minister. According to the source, Kumar, a 1988 batch officer, would continue to function as DG Vigilance and CB-CID. Vishwakarma took over as the state’s officiating DGP on April 1 when the previous DGP, DS Chauhan, retired.
