Whosoever tries to disturb peace of J and K will be dealt firmly: Amit Shah
Srinagar, 24 October (H.S): In his maiden visit to J&K after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A, union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Valley on Saturday for a three-day visit to review security situation. During his visit, Amit Shah assured that whosoever tried to disturb peace of Jammu and Kashmir would be dealt firmly.
Ahead of his visit, the security was beefed up all through the union Territory and security personnel were seen all across valley and drones and motorboats of the Central Reserve Police Force were put in operation.
After landing at the Srinagar airport, Shah visited the family of Inspector Parvez Ahmad, who was killed by terrorists on June 22 when he was returning home after offering prayers at a local mosque. Shah offered Ahmad?s wife a government job.
“Visited the house of martyr Jawan Parvez Ahmed Dar and paid tribute to him. I and the whole country are proud of his bravery. Met his family members and gave his wife a government job,” Amit Shah tweeted.
?I assure that we will deal sternly with anyone who wants to disturb the peace of Jammu and Kashmir,? Shah was speaking at Youth club programme in SKICC, Srinagar.
?I am delighted to meet the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Without the participation of youth we cannot achieve much in our lives. I am visiting here after 2.5 years and I am happy to see the change and development of Kashmir. It’s a great change and none can stop this development era in Kashmir,? Shah said.
Amit Shah stressed on the development of youth from the grass root level and asked them to dream big in life. Shah said they have decided to form a youth club in every panchayat and Rs 25,000 will be provided to every such club. 150 clubs have already been provided Bhavans. Sports engagement programmes have also been started.
Shah stressed on the transparency and corruption-free governance of Jammu-Kashmir and said that it would not have been possible without abrogation of article 370. Shah also held a security review meeting in Raj Bhavan in Srinagar where all the top officers of armed forced and intelligence wing were present.
