We would like to share the no.1 spot with New Zealand: Kohli
New Delhi, Feb 20 (HS): Ahead of the Test series against New Zealand, the Indian Cricket team visited the Indian High Commission, which hosted a reception for the men in blue on Wednesday in Wellington.
Speaking on the occasion, Virat Kohli said that New Zealand always plays the game with true spirit and we would love to share the no.1 spot with the Blackcaps.
“We are very honored to be here. We want to thank you for inviting us here. It is very special to visit the Indian High Commission, we enjoy meeting our people here,” said the Indian Captain.
“If we had to share the no.1 spot with any other team, it would be New Zealand. We have had a tremendous time here, the hospitality has been amazing. We feel very welcomed here. We lost the ODI series, but now we have real cricket to look forward to, that is Test cricket,” he added.
“We have reached a stage where every single team of the world wants to beat us and New Zealand will also look to do so,” said Virat.
“We definitely have learned to play the right brand of cricket, watching New Zealand play. Thank you very much for inviting us here,” he added.
India is at the top while New Zealand is on the sixth spot in the World Test Championship table. India will play New Zealand in the first test starting from Feb 21 at Wellington.
