Waqar Younis tells the reason behind India’s recent success in Test cricket
New Delhi, 18 March (HS): Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis said that India is the strongest team in test cricket today due to the combination between their fast bowlers. Waqar believes that the Indian team has a group of good fast bowlers, due to which the Indian team is so successful in test cricket today.
Talking to a YouTube channel, Waqar said, “If you look, India has really worked very hard in this field. India is now producing bowlers on a regular basis who bowled faster than the range of 140”.
He said, “It was not like that before but now things have changed. Bumrah, Shami and Ishant have taken India to the top. This is the biggest reason that India is now doing well in Tests and all other formats as well.”
Waqar also praised how India keeps experimenting in its bowling deeds. Waqar said, “If you look at their test team, they have a good combination of fast bowlers for this format. But in white ball formats they keep changing bowlers and experimenting more and more. Which is a good thing.”
India are on the top of World Test Championship table with 360 points. India had won seven matches in a row in this competition, but recently they lost the two match test series by 2–0 against New Zealand.
