Vishwanathan Anand forced to stay in Germany due to Coronavirus outbreak

New Delhi, 16 March (HS): Five-time World Chess champion Indian Grand master Vishwanathan Anand is stranded in Germany due to Coronavirus and visa restrictions. Anand went to Germany in February to play the Bundesliga Chess tournament.
He has put himself in isolation for a week due to the Coronavirus outbreak. He is now expected to return to Chennai later this month.
Anand said, “It is a very bad experience for me. Being forced to isolate myself for the first time in life. I wake up every morning and talk to son Akhil and wife Aruna on video call. We try to be happy after talking to each other.”
He said, “My friends around the world are upset because of Coronavirus. I have plenty of time to talk to everyone. I go for a walk once or twice a day. During this time whenever I meet anyone on the way, I keep a distance of few meters from them.”
It is noteworthy that 6515 people died in 157 countries due to Coronovirus. Till Monday morning, a total of 1 lakh 69 thousand 515 cases have been reported.
At the same time, 5813 have been found infected in Germany so far and 11 of them have died of this virus. The death toll in India is two right now. While, 110 people have been found positive in the Coronavirus test.
