Virat Kohli welcomed Rajat Patidar as the new Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain with a heartfelt message. On Thursday, RCB named Patidar as the new skipper after not retaining Faf du Plessis. Patidar will lead the team in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Kohli, the former RCB captain, congratulated Patidar and expressed confidence in his leadership. In a video shared by RCB, Kohli praised Patidar’s journey with the team. “Rajat, I want to congratulate you and wish you the best. You’ve earned this role with your performances. Fans love watching you play, and this captaincy is well deserved,” Kohli said.

Kohli assured Patidar of full team support. “Leading RCB is a big responsibility. I’ve done it, and Faf has done it. Now, you have the honor to take the team forward. You’ve proven yourself with your consistent performances, and I’m sure you’ll keep growing,” he added.

Patidar’s rise has been impressive. He has evolved as a player, earned an India cap, and improved significantly in the past few years. Kohli acknowledged Patidar’s leadership experience with his state team and praised his ability to handle responsibility. “You’ve shown what it takes to lead this franchise,” Kohli said.

Kohli urged RCB fans to rally behind their new captain. “Support Rajat wholeheartedly. He will do what’s best for the team and franchise. Our collective goal is to strengthen RCB. Let’s back him and look forward to an exciting season,” he concluded.

Patidar now steps into a crucial leadership role, aiming to guide RCB to success.
