Bengal, Jan 29 (HS): Violence has taken place in West Bengal during demonstrations against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Citizenship Register (NRC). Violence erupted after a clash between Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders and locals on Wednesday in the Jalangi area of Murshidabad.

A large number of police forces have reached the spot.TMC workers were protesting by blocking the road. This was opposed by the local people and clashes took place on both sides.
