Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava goes Telugu! Fan’s demand turns blockbuster into pan-India release
Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava is now set to release in Telugu after a blockbuster run in Hindi. Fans demanded a Telugu version soon after its release two weeks ago. Responding to the buzz, Maddock Films announced the Telugu release on Instagram. They shared a poster of Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, confirming the film’s Telugu debut on March 7.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava has dominated the box office since its February 14 release. The film has grossed over ₹500 crore worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing period epic in Hindi cinema after Padmaavat. In India, it has collected ₹385 crore and is set to cross ₹400 crore soon. With its strong performance, the film could reach ₹700 crore globally.
The movie has been a massive hit in Maharashtra, where Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj holds historical significance. It has also gained traction in Rajasthan and West Bengal, boosting mid-week ticket sales. Starring Akshaye Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, and Vineet Kumar Singh, Chhaava brings the legendary warrior’s story to life.
