Lucknow, 11 June  (HS) :     The fourth integral pillar of the UP Model of Yogi Adityanath–aggressive vaccination, is leading by example under Mission June. The cumulative doses of vaccine administered in Uttar Pradesh against COVID-19 has come close to 2.20 crore. Uttar Pradesh has given over 37 lakh doses of vaccine in a period of 10 days only, the start of the Mission June- CM Yogi’s massive ambitious target .

Daily Vaccination figures are at a record high since the start of ‘Mission June’.The CM has already issued orders to set up special booths for street vendors and drivers from Monday, which is likely to increase the pace of vaccination. Preparations are on a war-footing to inoculate these vulnerable sections of the society in each district so as to eliminate vaccine hesitancy among them and their families.

On Thursday, CM Yogi asked the officials to ramp up the current daily vaccination rate to 5 to 6 lakhs within 2-3 days. Working in the same direction, the State government has administered around 4.28 lakh (4,28,523) vaccine doses in the last 24 hour.

According to a spokesperson of the state government Uttar Pradesh, after successfully tackling the second wave of COVID-19, is now conducting aggressive vaccination of the 18+ category to protect maximum people against the anticipated III wave. According to the Department of Health, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the State reached nearly 2,19,99,548. Of which, around 1,82,70,797 have given the first dose, while the remaining 37,28,751 have received both the doses of vaccine.

The figure indicates increased eagerness among the younger population. The State Government’s target is to expand the daily dose capacity to 10-12 lakh by July. To meet the new target, the Chief Minister has directed the officials that the number of vaccinators must be intensified by giving training to the nursing students amongst others. CM has announced to ramp up the vaccination drive by inoculating 10 lakh doses a day and cover at least 10 crore people in the next 3 months as soon as the ‘Mission June’ ends, he said.

The high vaccination numbers are attributed to special camps set up by the UP government for different categories of people. With special pink booths women vaccination operational in each district of the State, women folks are turning up in large numbers.

Special Driver Booths & Street Vendors Booth to start from Monday

The spokesperson said that the officials of all the 75 districts in the state have started establishing special booths for vulnerable groups such as street vendors, auto rickshaw and e-rickshaw drivers, bus drivers and conductors. These groups will be vaccinated at special centres set up in Nagar Nigams, Nagar Palikas and Transport Department offices from June 14. In this regard, directions have been issued by the state government to the district magistrate to appoint a nodal officer. The category includes the Driver Booth and the Street Vendor Booth.
