UPSC CAPF ACs 2025: Registration opens for 357 posts! Apply Now!

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened registration for 357 Assistant Commandant (AC) vacancies in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Eligible candidates can apply at upsconline.gov.in until March 25.
Vacancy Breakdown:
- BSF: 24 vacancies
- CRPF: 204 vacancies
- CISF: 92 vacancies
- ITBP: 4 vacancies
- SSB: 33 vacancies
- Total: 357 vacancies
Exam Schedule & Pattern
UPSC will release admit cards on the last working day before the exam. The written test is set for August 3, 2025, and consists of two papers:
- Paper 1: General Ability and Intelligence (250 marks). It runs from 10 AM to 12 PM and features objective questions in English and Hindi.
- Paper 2: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension (200 marks). Candidates can write essays in English or Hindi, but precis writing, comprehension, and language skills must be in English.
Selection Process
Candidates who pass the written exam must clear:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standards Test (PST)
- Medical Standards Test
- Interview/Personality Test
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 25 years old as of August 1, 2025 (born between August 2, 2000, and August 1, 2005). Reserved categories receive age relaxation as per rules.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required. Final-year students can apply provisionally but must provide proof of passing before the PET/PST round.
Special Provisions
UPSC may accept candidates with alternative qualifications if their examination meets the required standard. The commission also recognizes professional and technical degrees equivalent to standard qualifications.

- Female, SC, ST: Exempted
