New Delhi, Nov.09 (HS): The Supreme Court will pronounce its verdict in the decades old Ayodhya land dispute case on Saturday at 10:30 am.
A Constitution bench of 5 judge bench comprising of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi & Justices S.A.Bobde, DYChandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer will pronounce the much anticipated verdict after a marathon hearing on day to day basis for 40 days.
The judgement was reserved the judgement on October 16. Ahead of the verdict UP Chief Secretary and Director General, Police were called by the Chief Justice in New Delhi on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a Tweet has appealed for peace.
He said ,”Whatever decision of the Supreme Court will come on Ayodhya, it will not be a victory or defeat for anyone. My appeal to the countrymen is that it should be the priority of all of us that this decision should further strengthen the great tradition of peace, unity and goodwill of India.”
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath retweeted the post and appealed to citizens to stay calm and united. He said, the upcoming verdict should not be termed as win or defeat for any community. He called a Special meeting at his residence with Chief secretary and DGP attending the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that strict action will be taken against those trying to disrupt peace and calm in the state. Meanwhile, Security has been beefed up in Ayodhya and adjoining areas ahead of the verdict.
Special Media center has been set up by the state government for the flow of authentic news to the people.
